The Omius headband is uniquely designed with a silicone grid to hold our cooling pieces. The grid locks the pieces in place and keeps them in contact with the skin. The cooling pieces are replaceable and easily transferable from one piece of Omius headgear to another. The headband is made from breathable 100% polyester and is designed with an ergonomic fit to accommodate most head sizes. Note: The headband, visor, and cap are sold separately but require 20 cooling pieces to function.

How does Omius work?
Omius unlocks the power of evaporation. When water or sweat evaporates on the surface of the skin it absorbs heat and cools the body. The amplified cooling effect of the Omius technology comes from water being absorbed into the cooling pieces where it has 5x more surface area for evaporation. The transformation of water from a liquid to a gas on the surface of the graphite pulls heat from the inside of the cooling pieces that are in contact with the skin. This cools the skin.Because the cooling effect is driven solely by water evaporation the effect will continue indefinitely as long as the cooling pieces are wet and exposed to airflow.
Do I need to put the cooling pieces in the freezer?
No! Here are the key steps to unlock the cooling effect. 1) Keep the cooling pieces wet during use 2) Keep them directly in contact with your skin 3) Get air flowing across the pieces by running, walking or biking. Indoors you can use a fan to create airflow.
How long will the cooling effect last during use?
The cooling pieces will continue to cool you indefinitely as long as they are wet, sit in direct contact with your skin and are uncovered and expose to airflow.
Can I buy just a headband, visor or cap?
Headgear is sold separately but will require cooling pieces to function. The cooling pieces can be bought separately from the headgear and pieces are easily moved between an Omius cap, visor or headband.
Do I need to wet both the headgear and the cooling pieces?
The cooling effect comes from keeping the cooling pieces wet but there is no harm in wetting the headgear as well.
Is Omius only used for racing?
No. Omius has benefits both at race pace and during training. The cooling effect increases performance while also increasing comfort and enjoyment during the workout.
